Frequently Asked Questions
An answer to (almost) all your questions
It's normal to have a lot of questions when you're considering whether to send your child to summer camp for the first time or not. To help make the process as easy as possible, we've provided a list of questions we receive frequently below.
Registration period
Registration will begin on December 16th ! You will need to go to our online registration platform: jeminscrismaintenant to register your child for a summer stay or for the winter track. Whether it is your child's first summer at Tekakwitha or their eighth, do not delay in registering them because places in each group are limited.

French language
Camp Tekakwitha is proud to be 100% French-speaking. French is the language used for activities, music, communications, etc. You must therefore have an intermediate-advanced level of French (B2 minimum) to participate.
We are not an immersion camp for beginners.

Drinks
Our laundry attendant does campers' laundry every 7-10 days, so please pack clothes for this period, taking into account your child's habits. Everything must be identified (labels or written in pencil). Clothes from each cabin are washed together, so even small items must be identified (socks, underwear, accessories, etc.). Everything goes in the washer and dryer, as we do not have a dry cleaning service or air drying facilities.

Start of stay
We welcome campers between 10 am and 2 pm on arrival days. In addition to helping your child settle into their cabin, you will have to go to the administration and the dispensary (health care facility). We then invite you to visit the premises, meet the staff members and who knows, maybe take a dip in the magnificent Lake Androscoggin.
Between 11:30 am and 1 pm, on June 24 or July 22, go to the Refectory
to enjoy a generous and delicious buffet.

Pocket money
Children may bring money for personal expenses, but it is not required. Only Pioneers and Apprentices will have the opportunity to purchase items and/or snacks during their outings. There is no need to give your child too much money, as the activities and needs are already taken care of by the camp. If you decide to give them money, please do so in a reasonable and safe manner.

Communication during their stay
Campers do not have access to telephone or internet. You can contact them by letter or email:

67 Camp Tekakwitha Road
Leeds, ME
04263, USA
message@campdevacances.com
However, too many messages can have the opposite effect and accentuate nostalgia. We recommend 2-3 messages per week. Don't forget to write their full name!

Boutique spending limit
We ask that you establish a shopping budget for your child; a limit to use if they wish to purchase items at the Chez Claire boutique during their stay. In case they forget, we sell toothbrushes, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, etc. In addition, we have several Tekakwithian themed items such as sweatshirts, sweaters, caps, etc. We will send you the invoice after their stay. The budgeted amount will not be charged if your child does not purchase anything.

Privacy
The confidentiality of your personal data is a priority for us. Consult our privacy policy to learn more.

Any questions or complaints regarding the processing of personal information by Camp Tekakwitha can be sent to Camille Dion, General Manager and Privacy Officer, by email at the following address: direction@campdevacances.com.

Gala
The gala, which marks the end of the month-long stays on July 19 and August 16, requires neat but simple attire. The main thing is to celebrate the campers' accomplishments together in a warm atmosphere. Participants enjoy taking pictures by the lake, which is why it's important to dress elegantly, such as a nice shirt, sweater or dress, to be both chic and comfortable.

Security measures
At Camp Tekakwitha, safety is paramount. All employees must provide a criminal background check and an 8-hour CPR First Aid certification upon hire. We also offer a training weekend and a pre-camp with workshops on a variety of topics, from activity facilitation to child psychology, ensuring a safe and memorable experience with a qualified team.
